Location: HMP Fosse Way, Tigers Road, Wigston, Leicester, LE18 4WS
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Milton Keynes College are looking for individuals with first-hand knowledge and experience in Carpentry to provide support to our Learners at HMP Fosse Way. You will support the smooth running of the workshop and maintain the workshops inventory.

 

As Vocational Teaching Assistant, you will provide general and practical support to both learners and the wider education team. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individuals who enjoy contributing to and working as part of a team. You will play a key role in the correct and appropriate use of equipment and resources used as well as support and guide learners with their practical and theory work. It is important that you can use your own expert knowledge from the industry to inspire and motivate learners to achieve success. You will work closely with Teaching staff to achieve an outstanding teaching and learning experience.

 

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience from the relevant Construction / industry fields, who are interested in starting a career within education – no education/teaching specific qualifications required. Learners studying for a career in the prison workshops for these trades will benefit from your invaluable industry experience.

ABOUT HMP FOSSE WAY

HMP Fosse Way is a brand new, purpose built Resettlement Prison based in the Glen Parva area of Leicester. The prison will be operated by Serco with Milton Keynes College as their strategic education provider. Following the prison opening in Spring we are recruiting for talented and creative professionals to join the new Education team based in the prison.  We have vacancies for daytime, evenings, and weekends positions though the majority of Education will be delivered Mon-Fri between 8:10-16:40.

Due to HMP Fosse Way being brand new, education staff will benefit from working in a new prison with up to date facilities, new resources and equipment.
