Salary: £24,450 - £27,072 per annum, pro rated for part time

Contract: Permanent

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 2 x 18.5 hours per week over 38 weeks initially supporting students in Building, Construction and Engineering

1 x 24 hours per week over 38 weeks Initially supporting in Catering and Hospitality

1 x 37 hours per week over 38 weeks

Key Responsibilities

Learner Support Assistants (LSA) work with students who experience barriers in their learning, helping with teaching and learning activities inside or out of the classroom/workshop. They work with classes, small groups, and individual learners. LSA's may also support students at break and lunchtime and with welcoming students into college each morning, or with accessing transport at the end of the day.

LSA's can also be called upon to meet the intimate personal support needs of individual learners with all activities undertaken in accordance with clear policies and procedures and following adequate training.

This role plays an integral part in the safeguarding of young people by acting as a champion and advocate for equality and diversity.

Skills & Knowledge

We welcome all applicants who believe they would be a good fit however it is essential that you:
  • Have knowledge and experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and having worked in an educational setting would be an advantage
  • Education to a minimum English and Maths GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent.
