Hours: Variable. Currently Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-12:30pm.

The Role

We are looking to hire a dedicated and reliable kitchen assistant to assist the Catering Manager with ingredient preparation as well as perform all washing and cleaning duties required in the kitchen and service areas. The role will also include serving customers, taking orders and preparing hot drinks using a commercial coffee machine.

The key responsibilities of a kitchen assistant include undertaking food preparation tasks, as directed by the catering manager, preparing ingredients, cleaning vegetables, preparing simple dishes, observing correct cooking times and temperatures, using cooking equipment, utensils and machinery (e.g. saucepans, pans, chopping boards, meat slicers), cleaning cooking utensils, keeping work stations and surfaces clean and tidy and customer service.

To be successful as a kitchen assistant, you should exercise exceptional time management and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Ultimately, an outstanding Kitchen Assistant should be able to comply with all food and health and safety regulations.
