Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 12,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m. The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients. We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2. The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors.

A unique position has arisen for an engaging, creative and innovative individual to work within the College’s Regional Gazelle STEM (Science Technology Engineering Maths) Centre as a STEM Learning Facilitator.
The STEM role will be exclusively focused on demystifying the image of STEM learning, through the delivery of exciting and inspiring learning experiences and project based collaborative activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths. The stylish and relaxed environment is designed to capture and attract the imagination of young people and promote interest in the vast range of STEM career paths. It includes a 3D cinema, a digital skills IT lab, and an investigative lab. The STEM is equipped with all the latest state of the art technologies and a catalogue of STEM related activities to engage learners and drive forward the colleges STEM agenda.
We are currently looking to recruit a STEM Learning Facilitator to design and deliver innovative teaching, learning and assessment activities within the STEM Centre, including delivery to visiting primary and secondary school children, our own post 16 students and staff teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in working with young people of all ability levels to enhance STEM teaching, learning and assessment in the form of a facilitator.
The successful candidate will make a major contribution to how STEM learning can be fun and engaging, especially within a state-of-the-art learning environment where practical, experiential learning informs knowledge and theory. We want to inspire, develop and motivate young people into the wealth of rewarding progression opportunities with the STEM related industry sectors.
