Student Performance and Pastoral Support Officer
About the role:
The focus of this role is to support positive student performance (both young people and adults) and to identity and resolve any engagement issues in relation to attendance, retention and achievement. As part of the Centre for Health, Social Care & Childcare’s Student Services team you will ensure students are safeguarded and also work with managers and teaching/support staff to agree on strategies to address pastoral and engagement issues. This is a cross-centre role supporting students at CHSCC, successfully implementing strategies to maximise attendance, punctuality and effective engagement.
You will need to demonstrate a good standard of general education, particularly in English and Maths. At least 2 years’ experience of working with young people either as a mentor, youth worker, holiday scheme or in a school. An understanding and commitment to the College policy on Equality of Opportunity and a willingness to promote these in all aspects of the work. A sound understanding of how to relate young people and adults in education & knowledge of the issues these cohorts face that may impact on their success
