How it all started
The Association of Colleges is a not-for-profit membership organisation, representing colleges and acting as the voice of the further education sector.
In September 2014 they launched AoC Jobs, their market leading job board for the college sector. AoC Job’s sole purpose is to help people like you find a career in one of our colleges and support our students to achieve their learning goals.
What do colleges do
From basic skills to postgraduate degrees, colleges offer first-rate academic and vocational teaching in a wide range of professions including engineering, hospitality, IT and construction trades to name just a few.
What job opportunities are available
Teaching jobs take up approximately 60% of all jobs in the further education sector and colleges always looking for qualified teaching staff to work in a wide range of curriculum-based roles. At AoC Jobs we have the latest teaching and lecturing jobs from further education colleges in your local area and across the UK.
However, you don’t always need a teaching background to teach in further education. In fact, in the last 12 months, hundreds of Plumbers, Electricians, Hairdressers, Engineers, Nurses and Mechanics have become teachers at colleges. They had no prior teaching experience or qualification but are now passing on their trade skills by training up the next generation. You too can become a teacher! As many colleges will support you with training, as well as help you to gain a teaching qualification whilst on the job and getting paid!

It's not all about teaching jobs
Not all vacancies in colleges are teaching related, in fact, there is a wide range of support jobs that help to ensure the college runs smoothly. This includes roles in IT, Finance, HR, Marketing, Estates and Catering to name a few.
