About Dudley College
Dudley College is a large general further education college. The college supports young people and adults at its sites located in and around Dudley.
Around two fifths of learners are from Dudley, a quarter from Sandwell and most of the remainder are from other Black Country boroughs and neighbouring cities and counties.
The college works with approximately 20,000 learners each year. Of these, around 3,000 are young people aged 16-18 studying full time programmes or working towards apprenticeships. Many of the college’s adult learners attend on a part time basis or study towards vocational qualifications in the work place. Just over half of the college’s learners are female; and just over a quarter are from minority ethnic groups. The college has around 350 learners aged 14-16.
The college offers courses in a wide range of subject areas and provides education and training for apprentices, advanced apprentices, international and workplace learners. The college has extensive links with employers on a local, regional and national basis offering a diverse range of business improvement and employee skills updating programmes. The college also offers a number of employability programmes to help adults return to work.
The college employs some 700 staff and has an annual turnover of £32 million. It was officially judged as good by Ofsted at its most recent inspection in April 2013.
