How long have you worked here?
I have worked at the College for almost 10 years but have been in my current role for 5 years.
What does your job involve?
I work with schools and in the community to promote careers in construction and the built environment. I attend school careers fairs and regional events and organise the College’s annual award ceremony and open events. I am also involved with general marketing and social media.
What do you like best about your job?
I like that my role is varied so I’m doing something different all of the time.

What does your job involve?
Looking after and managing the day to day activities within roof slating & tiling, wall & floor tiling and painting & decorating. I also teach wall and floor tiling.
What do you like best about your job?
I like the atmosphere of working in a large organisation which has many staff and students who all have their own personalities. My role is challenging and each day is different, particularly as a manager because I have to react to situations as they arise on 3 different sites.
Why do you like working at Leeds College of Building?
I attended LCB myself as an apprentice and know what students can achieve with hard work. I still really enjoy the challenge of teaching students and get great satisfaction when I see them achieve their goals. The college is regarded highly by industry and this is reflected by the level of sponsors and partnerships that have been forged within individual trade areas. The college employs some excellent staff and many of these have become good friends during the years I have worked here.
