Richmond upon Thames College is on a journey to a dynamic, successful and sustainable future
Richmond upon Thames College has a clear strategy on where it will be by 2020. The college is evolving with a focus on providing high-quality value for money programmes and services that meet the future demands of employers and equip individuals with the required skills to flourish in the workplace. Over the next 2 to 3 years, we are undergoing a transformation to become a first class further education college and a major technical and professional hub for West London with a reputation for academic excellence.
To achieve our vision, we are currently undergoing a major redevelopment of our existing Egerton Road site. We have rationalised our existing college site including the refurbishment of many existing classrooms and facilities to ensure that our students’ education is not compromised during the redevelopment phase and that we continue to be one of London’s top colleges*.
This innovative new development will help establish Richmond upon Thames College as a college for careers with an outstanding reputation for services to learners and employers and will be synonymous with being a great place to learn, to work and to do business with. It will bring together education, enterprise and the local community and will deliver innovative curricular that exploit the latest technologies.
Alongside academic programmes, the campus specialisms will be creative arts and media, hospitality and leisure, digital technology, engineering, sciences, health, construction and sport. The specialisms will be delivered through a wide range and volume of technical diplomas and degrees, apprenticeship provision and through preparation for higher education where employers are looking to recruit at graduate level.
The wider community will also benefit from this development and will be able to take advantage of many of the new facilities which will include:
The redevelopment of the whole site is a partnership between Richmond upon Thames College, Haymarket Media Group, Harlequins, Clarendon School, Waldegrave School, Richmond Council and Achieving for Children.
All organisations are working together to create an Education and Enterprise Campus on the college site on Egerton Road in Twickenham which includes new college buildings for Richmond upon Thames College, a new secondary school for 11-16 year olds (Richmond upon Thames School) purpose-built accommodation for Clarendon School, and Haymarket’s new ‘tech hub’ and digital media incubator.
