The UK’s exit from the EU in January 2021 is set to have unprecedented consequences on businesses and workers in the UK. Significantly, the end to freedom of movement means that EU nationals will need sponsorship from a UK organisation in order to work in the UK. Only organisations that are granted a ‘Sponsorship Licence’ by the Home Office will be permitted to issue sponsorship to migrant workers (i.e. non British/Irish nationals). Ben Xu, an immigration specialist from Irwin Mitchell LLP will discuss in detail the requirements for a sponsor licence application and the sponsor’s duties and responsibilities on 27 April 2021.
