Vice Principal Human Resources and Organisational Development
We’re very clear about what we want to be … simply a great college, doing the right things in the right way. A strong, successful college is integral to the city of Hull and we have a great opportunity to create and reposition a modern, responsive education and skills offer, delivered in an innovative way.
Our focus is on delivering excellent learning programmes, from entry to higher level, in those technical skills areas which will best enhance the life chances of young people and adults in Hull. We will work collaboratively with all of our stakeholders, particularly with Hull City Council, the newly formed Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, employers, other education providers and the wider community, who share our passion for Hull. We are determined to play a full role in the design of a coherent skills system for the city of Hull and the wider Humber region. And, in doing so, we will be open minded and will not fear innovative thinking.
This is a unique opportunity to join a completely new senior team to lead Hull College into the future.
Key to our success will be an impactful Vice Principal HR and OD, who will lead on the development of a people-centred culture and strategy that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, higher performance and staff well-being throughout the college. There is ample opportunity to influence future strategy and implement transformational change while championing staff engagement and fostering excellent employee relations. You will also lead and inspire the HR team to provide a value-add HR service to steer the development of a college wide, people-centric culture.
Our successful candidate will be CIPD qualified, with substantial experience of workforce development within a large, complex organisation. You will have knowledge of a broad HR remit and a clear understanding of how to improve the quality of service and embed an excellent HR and OD function. Experience of developing and contributing to strategic and operational plans is also of key importance, as is motivating and harnessing the strengths of your team.
