Maintenance Officer

We are looking for a Sites Standards and Maintenance Officer to join our Estates team at Reading College. 

The post holder will ensure that the College buildings, facilities and grounds provide a suitable, safe, clean and secure environment to support teaching and learning. Providing a customer focused, responsive service to staff students and visitors. 

  • You will support light maintenance across the campus
  • You will ideally have some buildings maintenance experience or a wide range of abilities gained across general construction or trades.
  • Provision of a comprehensive range of estates, cleaning, decorating, maintenance, facility management and security services
  • You will have a good understanding of our Health and Safety requirements and be able to work within our policy and guidelines.
  • Patrol the grounds, with particular emphasis on the car parks and areas where people congregate, to deter wrongdoing and challenge non-compliance with college policies such as smoking, littering and unregulated car parking.


What do you need to be successful in this role?

You will bring a positive, solution focussed attitude and work well in a team. You will have the ability to carry out maintenance tasks, making the decision of when to escalate works to contracted services when required.

You will have an understanding of Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures and a willingness to undertake staff development, additional subject training and skills updating as necessary.

In addition to your monthly salary, we offer OTE based on you working optional overtime.
