Lecturer in Games Design

Lecturer in Games Design (0.8 FTE)

Up to £35,811 per annum pro rata

28 hours per week* (up to 18.5 teaching hours and 9.5 preparation and other duties)

We are seeking a professional with expertise in Games Design, including games development and concept, to teach on all courses across all levels in Creative Media Production area.  This role will involve teaching across a breadth of practical and theoretical units. An ability to teach a wide range of design focused games design skills, including strong knowledge of programming in C#, Java and/or Java Script. The candidate should also have experience with development in unity and Unreal Engines specialising in one or the other. Experience in design specializing in storytelling, UI and Gameplay is also desirable.

You should have a Degree in a games-related area (or equivalent professional qualification) and a teaching qualification or a commitment to obtaining one within a specified time after commencement and a good standard of education including Maths and English to Level 2 or above. You may also be required to undertake relevant quality assurance training and certification to meet UAL awarding body requirements for assessment and internal verification of student work.

*there may be scope to increase the role to 1fte (35 hours per week) with effect from August 2021.
