If you haven’t previously worked within the education sector but have had experience of working with young people aged 14-19 in a professional or volunteer capacity, we have a trainee Lecturer position that could be the opportunity for you.
We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm for the subject. If you have a Computer Science Degree and would like to pass on your knowledge to ensure our students receive the best possible learning experience, we would welcome your application.
Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer in Computing & Digital, you will be part of Bury College’s trainee programme (through the Taking Teaching Further programme), which will give you the opportunity to work towards your teaching qualification combined with teaching in classrooms (on a part time basis). The trainee programme is designed and delivered in a way that will ensure you obtain all the skills that are required to become a teacher. Support, guidance and mentoring will be provided.
The Taking Teaching Further programme has been developed to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in FE. The College will fund 50% of the teaching qualification cost (up to a maximum of £4,000).
This is a permanent position and, upon completion of the teaching qualification and your first year of employment, you will progress to the main pay band and terms of a fully qualified Lecturer.
