Do you have Experience of Working with Young People with Behavioural Issues

Central Bedfordshire College is looking to appoint Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA) to support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, so they can reach their full potential.

Part Time:                      30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (Term Time Only)

Fixed Term:                   April 2021 – 31 August 2022

Salary:                           £18,535 per annum (£11,675 pro rata)

As part of a team ELSA staff help our young people with behaviour support strategies.  Working alongside tutors and welfare advisors you would help our students to manage their emotions and get the best from their chosen course.

The post holder will develop knowledge of a range of learning and behavioural support needs to plan, devise and implement appropriate programmes to help develop young people’s emotional literacy skills and emotional wellbeing

Building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, parents and outside agencies is essential to this role.

Ideal candidates will have experience of working with young people and possess a good level of general education, including qualifications in GCSE English and Maths.  Excellent communication and organisational skills are requisite.
