As a Cluster Manager you will have responsibility for the day to day delivery of the 'cluster/sectors' including management of learning coaches and other colleagues where relevant, ensuring implementation and effective operation of end to end learner journey processes, curriculum design and innovation, learner progression and quality of provision.

The operational areas will mainly focus on delivering qualifications in areas of Bus and Coach and HGV who will focus on delivering apprenticeships at different levels, therefore highly effective management skills and a proven record of managing people to meet key performance indicators is essential for this role.

This role is permanent, full time (37 hours per week), predominantly based in the Northwest and Greater Manchester however some travel to our London workshop will be required on a monthly basis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Line management of learning coaches and other delivery colleagues where relevant
  • Conducting regular performance management reviews based on learner progression and experience
  • Ensuring effective IAG, initial assessment and induction for all learners, to ensure learners are on the right programme and level, and where relevant have the range within the job role to achieve their chosen programme
  • Closely scrutinise and monitor retention rates of learners, taking action in line with the retention strategy where learners are identified as at risk of leaving programme
  • Work in partnership with ILT, Business Improvement and Learning Coaches develop and embed an innovative curriculum with supporting schemes of work and learning resources, ensuring there are appropriate plans in place to review annually (as a minimum)
  • Hold regular standardisation meetings to ensure the implementation and understanding of learner journey processes is consistent across the cluster, and learning coaches have an opportunity to share good practice
  • Monitor Progress Reflections monthly across the cluster to ensure they meet the required quality standard and completed in a timely manner, ensuring action is taken where learning coaches do not do this.
  • Co-ordinate and plan EPA and Gateway for all areas across the cluster
