About Sir George Monoux College:
Monoux is a specialist Sixth Form College for students who want to make rapid progress towards higher education or higher skills jobs. There are over 1750 students from East London at the College, all of them 16 to 19 year olds on full-time courses. The College curriculum provision includes A Level, BTEC and GCSE resits. We have created a learning community that enables our students to develop personal attributes and engage in a wide range of sports and activities alongside their qualifications.
Our students often make excellent progress from where they were at GCSE, and we are ambitious about where they go next, with an improving trend of Russell Group entry as well as high value work and apprenticeships.
About the role:
If you are suited to providing support to students with specific learning needs, developing language, literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to succeed, then our Additional Learning Support Assistant role could be for you. Whilst direct prior experience is desirable, we are keen to hear from applicants who can display transferable skills of pro-activity, initiative and rapport building from other settings. These skills are crucial to develop relationships with teachers, support staff and students.
At Monoux, staff work in an environment that prioritises talk about teaching, student support and teamwork. Behaviour is well managed, and the campus is calm with a productive working atmosphere. This opportunity may suit candidates who are experienced practitioners or those looking for an entry into the education sector.
