You will be an inspiring leader, responsible for developing teachers and assessors to improve team performance, with a corresponding improvement in the student experience and outcomes. Embedding and creating a vision for your team you will work with the Faculty Coordinators to ensure high quality organisational planning and compliance with necessary administrative procedures. The post holder may undertake up to a 0.5 teaching commitment.
Faculty teams of learning professionals co-create and co-deliver the learner experience alongside our carefully selected employer-partners, offering learners a direct line of sight to employment, and focusing on making every one of our learners a highly employable individual. The Faculty of Technology teaches career pathways in engineering, ICT subjects, electrical installation, plumbing, Motor Vehicle, carpentry and joinery.
This post is a full time, permanent position and could be based at either our Reading College or Bracknell and Wokingham Campus.
About you and what do you need to be successful?
The successful candidate, who will have an outstanding understanding of teaching and learning ideally applied in a technical setting and the drive to develop outstanding teachers through appropriate coaching approaches, will lead a teaching team and have responsibility for creating the conditions for driving quality of teaching, learning and assessment to ensure learners have an outstanding experience and develop the skills, knowledge and attributes needed for their career progression. The role also included a proportional teaching commitment within the faculty. You will have an aptitude for using technology to enhance learning coupled with good planning and organisational skills. Experience within engineering, technology, construction, trades, apprenticeships or a relevant discipline would be desirable.
In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
