Oaklands College, a general further education college with campuses across Hertfordshire, is committed to supporting our communities to reach their full potential. We benefit local stakeholders by providing a broad, innovative Further Education and Higher Education offer, which encompasses a number of specialist programmes, while our High Needs provision and Elite Sports Academies have a national reputation.
With an income of £35million, our financial position is excellent. Our facilities are superb and we have a c.£60m fully-funded capital redevelopment programme underway at our St Albans campus. We have developed successful joint ventures, with the University of Hertfordshire for HE and with West Herts College for apprenticeship provision, and we aspire to become an outstanding education and skills provider.
We are now seeking several new Governors to complement the skills within our Board, to strategically support our forward trajectory and ensure that the college is effectively positioned to make the most of future opportunities. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for improving opportunity and who are keen to positively impact local lives, communities, businesses and economies, while positioning us as a trusted brand and a destination of choice.
We are keen to attract people from different backgrounds with varied experience and skills. You may have previous non-executive director (NED) or trustee experience, or perhaps this is your first governor / NED role; either way you will benefit from an induction and training programme, alongside support from our experienced board members and college community.
