The Learning and Enterprise College Bexley is a community learning and skills provider in the London Borough of Bexley, an outer London borough located on the border with Kent. We have been on a successful journey recently and last year we were judged as Good by Ofsted. We have focused on excellence in teaching and learning, while embedding a learner-centric culture which also values and supports our talented staff.

We now have an excellent platform to develop further, with the opportunity to shape and establish the college’s identity and offer to have the optimum impact on our communities. Our new Principal will play a lead role in this and can bring an entrepreneurial approach to evolving the college’s future curriculum, while ensuring that our high levels of quality and strong outcomes continue. Our new leader will also continue our positive change agenda, ensuring that effective systems, processes and working practices are embedded throughout the college.

Reporting to the Deputy Director for Educational Achievement and Inclusion at Bexley Council, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, forward thinking individual to step up. There will be ample scope to make an impact and to create a successful, sustainable college for the future, with the support of centralised resource functions and a network of peers in the local authority.

You will have a track record of leadership in a further education college, ideally with experience of leading adult provision. A reflective and proactive individual, you will have the ability to identify gaps and opportunities for us to flourish moving forwards. You should be a motivational leader who can get the best out of your teams, while being able to function effectively within a small college environment. We are flexible to consider candidates who are stepping up in their career; you will benefit from CPD, along with a role that can significantly broaden your skills and experience
