WHAT WE DO 

The School of Land and Animal Science is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds and has been self assessed as outstanding for the last 2 years. Our team consists of a Head of Department, Programme manager, Teachers, Teaching Assistant, Pastoral Coach and Technicians. Our team work to support our learners to achieve their full potential and get their vocational qualifications. We are looking for a Trainer/Practitioner/Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver practical sessions in the farm on site and at our animal centre. They will also be required to support our teaching team delivering practical sessions as well as completing daily husbandry activities with our animals.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare and deliver practical classes
  • Have administrative tasks related to learners eg: registers and student records 
  • Support the teaching team and deliver practical sessions 
  • Complete daily husbandry activities at the animal care centre
  • Record keeping
  • Complete cleaning tasks in the animal care centre to ensure the centre is a good representation of the department

 

YOUR PROFILE 

  • You will have a teaching qualification (desirable)
  • You will have a related Higher Education qualification
  • You will demonstrable experience working with livestock and small animals
  • You will have a clean driving licence
  • You will have experience in delivering sessions to learners
  • You will have an Assessors qualification (desirable)
