Information Advice and Guidance Worker role is offered on a Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. You will be based at HMP Onley working with Adults aged 18 and above.

In this role you will be required to;

To provide impartial information, advice and guidance

To assist learners in identifying career goals at induction, review progress during sentence and handover to the CRC or other appropriate agency prior to release.

Providing an IAG career service which is confidential to the individual, and which meets the highest standards of equality of opportunity.

Aligning learner PLP (Personal Learning Plan) and individual learning whilst in custody.

Supporting and advocating English and mathematics development.

Providing accurate and impartial information, advice and guidance to learner about the education courses, qualifications and training services provided.

Transferring individuals 12 weeks prior to release to the CRC team or other appropriate partner to ensure continuity of service on release and to support their progression into further learning and sustainable employment.

Identify skills, learning and work goals in the context of local Labour Market Information (LMI).

Record previous work experience and education attainments and offer future advice.

Link post-release career opportunities and aspirations to the availability of relevant learning and work in custody, improving as a result their chances of real sustainable employment on release.

Explore options and make decisions about suitable careers and jobs and the routes to achieve these during their time in and after custody.

Develop a single clear PLP which includes career element to maximise their time in custody and achieve their through-the-gate life and work ambitions.
