Head of Curriculum - Construction

We are now welcoming applications for a Head of Curriculum within the Construction department on a full time, permanent basis.

As Head of Curriculum you will support the development of the curriculum, considering the needs, entitlements and progression opportunities for all students. You will ensure registers are completed for all timetabled and study programme activity in the curriculum area and you will be responsible for preparing course timetables to maximise staff and room utilisation.

You will manage staff within the Curriculum Team, ensuring professional behaviours and high levels of performance. You will manage and lead staff to deliver high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, student experience and outcomes through the promotion of a culture of high expectations. You will innovate and lead on the sharing of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment across the team.

You will play an active role in leading division based, and collaboratively on cross college quality assurance/improvement activity including: lesson observations, SAR, QIP, internal and external verification, performance review panels and validations in accordance with the college quality strategy.

You will have experience of achieving positive outcomes through the co-ordination or management of a Curriculum area/team, have knowledge of national benchmarks of student performance and college performance measures of staff, and knowledge of how facilitating learning helps students achieve.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels, a committed and flexible approach to working and the ability to work using own initiative, both independently and as a member of a team.
