We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, passionate individual to join the existing team within our Higher Education Learning Support provision, As a Study Support Teacher, you will be responsible for the inclusive delivery of study skills to learners on their chosen higher education courses to develop a confident approach to their studies. Our Higher Education students are working towards a degree or equivalent qualification in a variety of subjects.
In collaboration with our broader Group Learning Support team, you will support our students on a one to one basis and in small groups, both face to face and virtually, helping then to overcome any barriers to learning and achieve their true potential whilst supporting students retention and achievement.
This is position is available as of August 2021, part time (15 hours per week), permanent contract.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
You will have experience in a similar role, and/or extensive knowledge and understanding of working with adults with specific learning difficulties within an education environment. You will have a strong academic background along with a passion for helping individuals achieve their true potential. You will always be approachable and operate in a professional manner.
Ideally, you will have a PGCE or equivalent teacher’s qualification along with sound understanding of SEND and SpLDs or have the willingness to work towards gaining additional qualifications as part of our comprehensive development package.
