WHAT WE DO

The Departments of Foundation Studies and The Supported Engagement Programmes support students with High Needs, SEND and SEMH to access Further Education and to develop the skills they need to study or progress into work. We are recruiting to three Progression Co-ordinators who will be responsible for supporting a case load of high risk learners to transition both into and out of the college. Two roles will be based at our Beeston Campus and will support students with SEND needs; the other will be based at Somerville House and support students with SEMH needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The successful candidate will have a background in Initial Advice and Guidance and will have significant experience working with students with Education, Health and Care Plans.
You will support students at the start of the admissions process to ensure that they have the support they need to begin a college course. This could involve supporting the students with travel training and meeting them off site to help develop a transition plan that meets their EHCP requirements.
You will also work with the students at the end of their course to ensure they have all the tools they need to progress successfully into either further study or work.

YOUR PROFILE

You will be a confident communicator who can build positive relationships with external partners as well as develop rapport and trust with students who may have previously been disengaged or who need additional support in place to access college.
You will have a background in Initial Advice and Guidance and be familiar with the EHCP process.
You will be required to work independently through a caseload of students and will need to tailor your support to meet the individual student's needs.
You should be confident using IT and have strong written communication skills.
