Hourly Paid Lecturer in Health and Social Care

About the role:

There has never been a more exciting time to work in the Health and Care Sector, and you will get the chance to shape the next generation of Health and Care professionals. We offer all levels (E3 – Level 3) so if it is ”straight out of school” or “heading to Uni”, you will get the chance to support learners at different stages on their pathways to further study or employment.

The usual teaching duties apply in terms of marking and preparation, staff and curriculum development, course administration, and student support and tracking. But the opportunity to be creative, do things differently, and grow with us, as the department and sector evolves, also comes with the role.

About you:

You will have experience and / or recognised qualifications in Health and Social Care, and a teaching qualification or the commitment to undertake one is a must.

You will most likely have a history of teaching within a vocational (or similar) context to a high standard, with personal/group tutoring experience.

You will have a passion for working with 16-19 year olds, and will be able to engage, motivate and inspire.

About us:

We are the largest college group in London.  Our colleges include City and Islington College, Westminster Kingsway College, and The College of Haringey, Enfield and Northeast London.  We are committed to success through equality and diversity. We invest in our staff.

About City and Islington College:
City and Islington College is the first choice Further Education College for thousands of young people and adults across London. It achieves excellent academic results year on year for its students and creates pathways to careers for people of all ages.

The Holloway Campus, where the role is based, is a bright and airy, architecturally designed building, with excellent transport links for ease of access. As well as modern classrooms and teaching spaces, the campus offers theatre and arts spaces, IT suites, a “World of Work”, a fully equipped Learning Resource Centre and open-air courtyards. For the Health and Social Care department specifically, it also offers a brand new, recently refurbished teaching space in the heart of the building, including professional Child Care and Health Care Practical Suites, to make learning come alive, with practical and hands-on experience.
