School Finance Assistant

School Finance Assistant. The Heath Family Trust - Litherland Start date - WC 23rd August Hours 8.30am until 4.30pm (30 minute lunch)The Heath Family Trust are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their fantastic team from the 23rd August 2021. This role will be split between the central team and school based bewteen litherland High and Litherland Moss.Main Duties include: Operation of the school's accounting function according to agreed procedures.Take the lead role in the purchase ordering function of the school. This will include but not be limited to:· Ensuring best value in the school's procurement of goods and services.· Ensuring compliance to the Trust's controls and procedures regarding procurement.· Providing the initial point of contact for the school's budget holders when making a purchase requisition.· Processing the order with the external supplier.· Resolving purchasing/payment queries/disputes.· Ensuring all purchase orders and invoices are authorised prior to posting.To be involved in projects that relate to finance: obtaining quotes, advising staff of best value.Assist the Trust Finance Officer to monitor and record all monies for school trips and ensure accounts balance, ensuring documentation is completed and submitted.Undertake ad hoc duties that are relevant to the Finance Assistant roleIdeal background/skills/qulaifiacations· - Experience of financial systems in an educational context· - Accurate and methodical approach to work.· - Able to use a range of ICT packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, )· - Good Interpersonal skills· - Excellent written and verbal communication skills· - Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles & responsibilities and your own position. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check or update service check.
