South Essex College Engineering and Construction Department are looking for Senior Technicians to join their team. This role will be responsible for line managing a team of technicians across all campuses. This will involve ensuring a rota is in place for technician cover across all sites an arranging sickness cover. The role of Senior Technician is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the teaching areas and will have overall responsibility for the technical equipment and resources across a variety of areas around the College. You will advise staff and students on the use of relevant technical equipment required for teaching delivery and ensuring that the maintenance of such equipment meets health and safety standards. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment required for classes is prepared and set up in order to support the Academic Staff and contribute to the learner experience, an for providing technical advice and support to the Academic Staff and Curriculum area and fully contribute to the learner experience and their success. A key part of the role will be to take on responsibility for ordering supplies and equipment required to deliver a high quality curriculum and maintain the appropriate levels of consumables and general stock management.
