Visiting Tutor in Adult Maths & English

Part Time:                      12 hours per week

Salary:                            Up to £26.65 per hour (Qualified Teacher Rate)

Period:                           October 2021 to July 2022

We are looking to strengthen our adult maths and English team and are seeking enthusiastic, talented individual who has the energy and drive to increase the success of our adult students.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage a diverse range of learners and who uses interactive methods in the classroom. Planning and preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans and the continual assessment of learner work is a significant part of this role. This involves managing the quality of the course through implementation of robust internal verification schedules. Communicating effectively and working as a part of a wider team is a key part of this position

Key Person Specification Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in relevant subject area
  • Level 2 qualification in maths and English
  • Up to date industry standard vocational skills
  • Relevant IQA qualification 

Central to the work you do will be enabling students to aspire beyond their initial intention and reach a potential that equips them to progress into work, higher education or apprenticeships.  You will use IT to enhance your working practices as well as learning opportunities for learners.  You will manage your time well and meet deadlines.
