BEHAVIOUR BUDDY/MENTORI am currently working alongside one of our Partner Secondary Schools in Cardiff to support with their recruitment for a Teaching Assistant that can specialise in supporting with their pupil's behaviour. The various types of support will be with challenging behaviour, anxiety and also with those who have difficulty reading social situations.The school run a number of specialist programmes and initiatives to support their pupils and the appointed support assistant will be required to work with these programmes on and off site. As the school is now turning its focus to the support needed after the recent lockdown, a priority will be supporting the reintegration to school like for all year groups. Pupils who show signs of challenging behaviour, may find the return to school can be overwhelming and therefore your support will be needed on a social level not just on an academic level.The School and PositionPosition: Full time, Mon-Fri Start Date: November 2021Pay Rates: Up to £350 per week dependant on experience Fixed term contract with possibilities of becoming permanentSupporting secondary school pupils aged between 11-19Large school with over 1650 pupilsThe successful support assistantEducated to Degree level is preferred but not essentialPrevious experience working within a school or with school aged childrenBe proactive and be able to support with multiple pupils while keeping engaged with your 1:1Work closely with the ALNco within the schoolShow an active interest in school community projectsWe are looking to shortlist successful candidates for this role ASAP with a view to setting up a trial day within the school before being appointed.
