Bank Hourly paid contract
£25.22 per hour Teaching Rate and £16.31 per hour Non-Teaching
(up to 18 hours a week)
Based at the Welwyn Garden City Campus
Oaklands College is an FE college with a large, growing and successful curriculum and we have a new exciting opportunity within our Access to HE and Science Department.
We are looking for someone with the drive and enthusiasm to deliver high standards of teaching and to play a major part in the future of Oaklands College. We would welcome applicants with experience in forensic science, criminology and sociology. You may also be required to teach on English and/or Maths Functional skills courses and act as a personal tutor.
Ideally candidates should hold a recognised teaching qualification, although full teacher training will be provided. We will offer you in depth coaching and the opportunity to achieve a recognised teaching qualification.
As a Lecturer in the Access to HE and Science department, you will teach as part of a high performing team to deliver across FE and HE programmes. Qualifications and experience in assessing and IQA are desirable.
The successful applicant should have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice and experience of teaching, and working with young people. You will have a genuine regard for young people and want to work with us to ensure that all our students aspire to do well. You will demonstrate and professional standards in your area of work. The ability to work in a team is essential, sharing good practice and working collaboratively with colleagues are qualities that we will be looking for.
