Salary: £21,642 - £23,908 (L3 - L5) per annum, pro rata

Hours: 29.6 hours 4 days per week

Status: Permanent

Reaseheath College is regarded as a leading provider of land - based education in the UK and has exceptional links with employers and associated businesses. The College has a beautiful rural setting situated amongst 330 hectares of farm, parklands, lake and established woodland

Due to increased student recruitment an exciting opportunity has arisen for a lecturer to join the Academy of Land and Environment department.

You will be expected to undertake theory and specialist practical teaching associated with academy requirements working within our established horticultural department. The role may include working across the full academy including our agriculture and countryside provision. A specialist knowledge of plant sciences, field scale and controlled environment cropping, plants, shrubs and trees as well as propagation and pruning is a pre-requisite of this role.

The role requires high quality planned and structured teaching delivery and you will work collaboratively with the college quality department and both internal and external verifiers to ensure full compliance with awarding body regulations. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to plan, prioritise and manage your workload efficiently and effectively.

Excellent IT, teamwork and communication skills as well as attention to detail is needed for this position. As a member of the academy you will consistently role model the college PRIDE values, ensuring that high standards and excellent customer service are evidenced at all times.

There will be a requirement to undertake other related activities which contributes towards the high quality, effective and relevant learning experience expected by all academy students. Other aspects of the role include marketing courses, supporting student recruitment and engagement with the department's commercial income generation.

You will be required to work flexibly to support the business and this may involve undertaking delivery at off-site locations and may also require some evening and weekend work.

Please note this role constitutes 'regulated activity' as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
