Part Time:                  31.25 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Salary:                        £18,535 per annum (£13,577 pro rata)

Supplement:              £1,388 per annum

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support teachers in classroom settings within our Specialist Provision.  

The role of Teaching Assistant (Level 2) is designed to enable students to complete their work/assessments and were required, in the event of tutor absences, assist in the Teaching and Learning by acting as class cover.

Essential to this role is experience in managing young people with complex behaviours and the ability to engage and motive a wide range of learners.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching of specific curriculum areas / specialisms as required and agreed with the Centre Lead / Manager.
  • Attend to the educational, personal and social needs of students and any other requirements depending on the student’s special needs and, wherever possible, make these part of the learning experience
  • In conjunction with teachers, to maintain a system of recording and tracking students’ attendance and progress
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all students in the learning activities in which they are involved.

Ideally you will have a good level of education along with good written and verbal skills, and possess professional qualifications at Level 3.  Although not essential a qualification in business or ICT would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills are another pre – requisite, as is the ability to be an effective team member
