Wirral Met College is a successful FE college with c.10,000 students making us the largest provider of 16-18 education, adult education, training and apprenticeships in Wirral. We are a financially strong college working towards our vision to be 'an inclusive, outstanding College'. Due to the success of our Construction provision, the department is expanding and we are looking for a brand new role as Construction Lead for our Wet Trades & Painting and Decorating area. The successful post holder will join our Construction department based at our bespoke multi-million pound Wirral Waters Campus. We are looking for an outstanding teacher who will lead the design, development and delivery of high quality education and training for learners that provides clear progression routes and positive destinations.

The successful applicant will hold a degree or equivalent suitable vocational or professional qualification and experience in a subject discipline related to the area of responsibility. A background in bricklaying would be desirable however other trades will also be considered. You will also hold a full recognised teaching qualification, level 2 English and maths qualification and an assessor's award. You will possess a relevant health and safety qualification and an IQA qualification or will be prepared to undertake and gain within 6 months of appointment. You will be given time off the job to complete your studies and be supported by a College Manager who will act as a mentor.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher who is passionate about driving improvement and wishes to develop their career in a supportive atmosphere. The post will involve working 35 hours per week and will be based at our Wirral Waters Campus in Birkenhead, Wirral. The successful applicant will be able to join the Teachers' Pension Scheme as well as receive the College's generous holiday entitlement.
