Hourly Paid Lecturer in Teacher Training

​An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, inspiring teacher to join the highly performing teacher training team at West Herts College.

Teacher training programmes are delivered at FE and HE level, including Level 3 programmes for new and aspiring teachers, and full training Level 5 Diploma programmes for permanent teachers in the lifelong learning sector to achieve qualified status.

The role involves delivery of the teacher training curriculum to meet teacher professional standards and assessed observations of teaching practice.

The successful candidate will have teaching experience and relevant qualifications and needs to be able to model best practice in teaching and learning.

You will also be able to promote, support and embed English, Maths and wider skills within planning and delivery of teaching, and support teaching staff in doing this with their learners. You should be committed to providing prompt, detailed assessment of student work and providing one-to-one feedback and target setting for trainees, both in terms of their assignment work and assessed observations.
