37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year 

£25,522.90 - £28,332.26

Highbury campus, although you may need to travel across all 4 Campuses based in Portsmouth


The Executive Assistant will be a key contact for the City of Portsmouth College’s internal and external stakeholders. You will provide organised and proactive assistance and support to the CEO and Principal and ensure the provision of an overall effective EA and PA support service to members of the College Senior Management Team by coordinating the work of the wider Executive Assistant and PA team.

The main responsibilities and duties include: 

  • Act as an all-around gatekeeper and strategically manage the Chief Executive Officer/Principal time with respect to priorities, goals, and objectives.  
  • Liaise professionally with external agencies promoting the reputation of the City of Portsmouth College and its Chief Executive Officer/Principal via proactive communication, liaising with VIPs dignitaries, and other stakeholders.  
  • To oversee the quality of information that goes to external agencies such as Ofsted, Further Education Commissioner, and Education Skills and Funding Agency. To design and facilitate visits from external agencies to ensure that they showcase the City of Portsmouth College in the best light possible.   
  • Efficiently plan and manage diary appointments for the CEO/Principal, including making any travel arrangements, and assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations.  
  • Provide comprehensive executive assistant support to the CEO/Principal. 
  • Organise, attend and minute departmental meetings, as necessary.   
  • To support the effective operation of the Senior Management, PA support team, including coordinating the workload, aiding with prioritisation and providing cover for other member of the wider EA and PA support team.  
  • Work cross-functionally internally and with external vendors to organise College wide events including Staff Briefings and Staff events and celebrations.   

This post will be based across the College Campus locations with some scope for hybrid working arrangements.

In August 2021, Highbury College and Portsmouth College merged to form the City of Portsmouth College. The new organisation is a general further education college in Portsmouth, Hampshire. 

It provides vocational and academic education and training, from first-step courses to university level foundation degrees, specialised services for business and education in the community. Courses include A Levels, vocational diplomas (BTECs), GCSEs, Foundation Degrees, Apprenticeships and unaccredited leisure courses.
