Specialist SEND School Teaching Assistant Position in Chorley

Temp-to-Perm Teaching Assistant Positions at a Specialist SEND School in Chorley (PR7)We are looking for Teaching Assistants to work in a fantastic SEND School in Chorley that caters for children aged 7-18 with Autism and a variety of different SEND. The two different types of roles are outlined below. Teaching Assistant 1: This teaching assistant will be working with children with Autism, Social Anxiety, and some other very moderate learning difficulties. These students work at KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills levels so you will need to be able to support students academically as well as being able to personalise their approach to the needs of the students. Teaching Assistant 2:This teaching assistant will be working with children with Autism, Complex Learning Difficulties, Communication Difficulties (Non-Verbal) and Personal Care needs. There is a lot of assisted play involved in working with these children as well as providing lessons in basic life skills. Interview, Trial and Temp-to-Perm Process: All the roles are on a temp-to-perm basis, where you will be asked to complete a paid trial week to check your suitability for the role. If successful, you will then work a small number of weeks through TeacherActive whilst the paperwork is being sorted for your contract and then will transition into a permanent position at the school. Eligibility for the Role: Whether you come from a background working in schools, working with SEND or working in a care capacity we encourage you to apply as the school are keen to provide additional training to staff to best incorporate them into the staffing team. The main thing is being able to form great working relationships with the students and work well within the staffing team.
