Additional Learning Support Assistant

We are recruiting for an ambitious, professional, resilient and respectful:

Academic Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £14,683.38 per annum/pro rata (£18,942 FTE) (up to £18,262.91 under the College’s sector leading flexible work, holiday and pay policy).

Hours: 37 per week, 36 weeks per year (Term Time Only).

Benefits to Support Work Life Balance: 28 days paid annual leave + Bank holidays (pro rata). Flexible work, holiday and pay options. 

Duties:

  • Support our learners grow and achieve on an academic, social and personal level.
  • Providing tailored 1:1 support outside of lessons for learners with a variety of learning needs.
  • Raise awareness of neurodiversity across the curriculum, with a particular focus on the use of Cognassist to assess learners for additional areas of support they may require.
  • Co-ordinating the assessment and matching process, you will ensure that learners are engaged with the support package to assist them in achieving their full potential.

Skills/experience:

  • Highly motivated Learning Support Assistant with a range of experience.
  • Either education sector experience or supported learners in the work place.
  • Well organised and hold an excellent range of communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
  • Level 2 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
