The WEA is looking for qualified and enthusiastic teachers with experience of working with adult learners to teach across Aldridge and surrounds on short courses (for example 2 hours per week x 6 weeks) or on study days.
The following subjects are popular with our learners but we welcome applications in other areas: Literature, Art History, Science and Environment, Philosophy, Economics, Film, Music, Creative Writing and History including Local and Social History.
-You will have a knowledge of and enthusiasm for your subject which you can share with adult learners;
-You will be able to support and retain students to make the courses successful;
-You will have experience of engaging with students who may experience barriers to learning;
-You will be comfortable using IT systems. Our programmes are required to use Canvas for the creation and running of courses for which we offer in-service training if needed.

The successful candidate must have a teaching qualification equivalent to level 3 or demonstrable experience of teaching that includes the administration of teaching & learning records.
You will also need IT literacy as we will require tutors to use our virtual learning platform as well as other online systems.
Training will be given in teaching using Zoom and Canvas which are the platforms used by the WEA.
You must be able to travel throughout
Aldridge and surrounds to deliver classroom based courses and able to deliver through a blended learning approach including the use of Zoom, and Canvas, our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
