Lecturer in Carpentry within Apprenticeships 36 hours, 52 weeks per year £29,552- £35,298 per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City College Norwich Apprenticeships Team. Due to rising industry demand we currently have a vacancy for a full time post within our Carpentry team. We are looking for someone who has up to date industry skills. This is an ideal opportunity to instil best practise and have an influence on shaping the next generation of carpenters entering the industry.
In these roles, you will be delivering practical and theory sessions to groups of carpentry apprentices, engaging with learners and employers to assess competence in the workplace, which is why you will need such a strong technical skillset as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
The role will include in classroom delivery of knowledge and skills, site visits to assess practical competency and preparation of apprentices for the end point assessment, liaising with multiple teams to prepare workshops for end point assessment and assist with stock control and ordering.
We have high standards for our students in the tracking and recording of work and assessments so you will need to be well organised and efficient as well as a confident user of IT. If you have been working in an environment where you have been able to support people to develop, are able to provide constructive feedback and set challenging but realistic targets, that would be beneficial when applying for these roles.
A teaching qualification is not essential to the role as we will support you to achieve the appropriate qualifications required for the post. You will require a level 3 qualification in your trade area. However, we would still love to hear from you if you have the appropriate industry skills and experience (five years minimum), great communication skills (written and verbal) and the patience and passion to help others learn, develop and progress.
