7 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (Thursdays)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Educational Trainer in Childcare. The successful candidate should have the ability to deliver the subjects in an engaging and creative way and have a proven record of motivating students to produce a successful and dynamic classroom environment. This role would involve teaching the Level 2 Childcare course for Adults.

The Education Trainer is responsible to the Adult Learning Manager for providing high-quality administrative support. Some of the main roles and responsibilities for this position are: 

  • To teach in a range of programmes, including Level 2 Childcare for Adults providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives. 
  • To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student retention, achievement and success 
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of high quality, relevant curriculum and programmes 
  • To act as a Programme Leader for designated programmes 
  • To provide academic and pastoral support for identified groups of students

In August 2021, Highbury College and Portsmouth College merged to form the City of Portsmouth College. The new organisation is a general further education college in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.

It provides vocational and academic education and training, from first-step courses to university level foundation degrees, specialised services for business and education in the community.
