Learning Coach

Our Study Coaches work with our dedicated learning support team to assist learners with a variety of SEND requirements. You'll be helping meet the needs of learners with Education and Health Care Plans and support their development of study skills both in classroom and 1:1 settings. By working alongside the tutor on a lesson by lesson basis you will adapt resources, help learners set targets and monitor their progress. As such the role also includes some admin work, tracking, attending weekly meetings with learning support and undergoing regular CPD.

We have two permanent, full time, term-time only positions working 46 weeks of the year (0.88 FTE) to fill. We would be interested in applications for this as a part time role, as job share is possible. Please specify your preference on your application form.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience. You will be able to provide support to students with learning disabilities, and support with delivering learning in a manner that meets their complex needs.

Support will take place in differing learning environments including within the classroom, 1:1, in small groups and in subject specific practical sessions. Strong team values, a desire to innovate within the learning experience, and the ability to adapt flexibly to the changing needs of learners are essential.

Experience of practical work in a workshop, factory or trades setting would be highly desirable.

A minimum requirement of GCSE Math and English or equivalent are also an essential requirement for this role.

What are the benefits of this role?
