Have you just graduated from university and are looking for an income to fill those long summer months?

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for 2022 Salford University Graduate on behalf of a "good" Manchester secondary school to support the needs of students on a small group and one to one basis alongside supporting in the mainstream classroom. This 2022 Salford University Graduate position is starting as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and is to cover a long-term sickness.

This Manchester secondary school are part of trust with students having access to top of the range facilities.

Note - this is not a role where you will be asked to work in five different schools over a week, this is a role in one school from asap until July.

The hours of this position are 8:30-3pm, offering a good work-life balance alongside the opportunity to gain some invaluable experience. The school have indicated the possibility of this position turning permanent for the right candidate.

This 2022 Salford University Graduate role would be suitable for someone looking to pursue a career in the pastoral sector with experience in a similar field or a post/undergraduate.

What you will need to succeed in this 2022 Salford University Graduate role:

Understanding of the social and emotional needs of young people

An awareness of the circumstances young people are exposed to in 2022, ie CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) CCE (Child Criminal Exploitation)

Ability to establish a positive rapport with young people

DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one

A minimum of six weeks experience in a similar setting, applicants from residential care backgrounds, youth work will be considered

Proactive nature and a willingness to learn

Ability to work as part of a team

Understanding of the needs of young people from a range of backgrounds

If you have worked/lived outside of the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years you will need an overseas police check to hand- we can not consider a candidate with one in process.
