Maths Advanced Learning Practitioner

Working Men’s College is seeking a full time (35 hours per week) Maths Advanced Learning Practitioner to join our well-established and successful maths department and also to play a key role in developing and delivering the College’s new Multiply project. 

As part of the mainstream maths department, you will support our delivery of adult numeracy courses from entry level up to GCSE.   

As part of Multiply, which is a national initiative seeing to improve adults’ maths skills through a range of innovative and creative maths courses, you will  help to design, develop and deliver a range of creative maths courses, including contextualized maths for vocational subjects, both within the College and out in the community.   

You will deliver high quality maths teaching to adults, modelling good practice and ensuring that achievement and the learner experience is exceptional. 

You will also play a lead role in developing the practice of other teachers, delivering CPD, and contributing to curriculum development. You will be involved in observing teaching and learning and identifying staff training needs, resource development and supporting digital and independent learning. 

Applicants must hold a PGCE or equivalent plus a maths Subject Specialism and be able to evidence a passion for keeping yourself up-to-date on latest educational research and best practice in maths teaching. 

If you have outstanding teaching skills both in the classroom and online with a proven track record of successfully teaching English to adults from Entry Level to GCSE and if you are passionate about teaching maths this may be the role for you. 

The post will include teaching evenings and/or Saturdays.
