Finance Apprentice

Basis:   37 hours per week, permanent with study leave

Salary: National Apprentice Wage

Reaseheath College is one of the UK’s leading specialist land-based colleges with over 3000 full-time students and 800+ residential students in Further Education, Higher Education and Apprentices.  The College has an annual turnover of £34M, employs 700 staff and has recently completed a £30M development of the site. 

The College has a new created vacancy for a Finance Apprentice within the Finance Department. This exciting opportunity offers the successful candidate a chance to progress a career in Finance by developing their skills and gaining an AAT Accountancy qualification.  

The role is suited to a school leaver who has good Maths and English GCSE attainment. You must be committed to studying and achieving the AAT qualification via an apprenticeship over a three year period. You must also be committed to assisting in the delivery of the organisations mission and strategic objectives. Full support from the Head of Finance and other qualified Accountants will be given as you progress through this role

Key areas of focus of the role are:

• Accounts Payable duties such as processing supplier invoices, making payments and reconciling supplier statements
• Assisting with the administration of corporate accounts such as Hire Care Rental, Hotel Booking, Prepaid Debit cards
• Accounts receivable and Student Finance duties such as raising student invoices and allocating receipts
• Assessing with the assessment of Bursary applications for students
• Assisting with internal and external audit requirements

The successful candidate should show accuracy and attention to detail along with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
