Northern college currently has exciting fractional opportunities for qualified and experienced counselling tutors. Tutor – Counselling

Salary: £28,221 - £30,822 per annum (pro rata) 

2 x 18 hours per week (0.5 fte) positions to include 1 weekend per month (Fri - Sun) and 1 evening per week

Location: Wentworth Castle, Barnsley, South Yorkshire


Key duties:

  • Preparation, delivery and marking/assessment on Counselling level 2 / level 3 courses.
  • Design and development of teaching and learning materials.
  • Ensuring the successful completion, achievement and progression of all students.   
  • Organise, plan, deliver and assess teaching, learning and assessment at a variety of levels and ensure the completion of timely documentation relating to this.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience teaching accredited Counselling  courses.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their goals.
  • A level 3 vocational qualification or above in the relevant subject area
  • Level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to achieve. 
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or above.
