Senior School Support Worker

Salary/Rate: £18,174 - £21,484 dependent on experienceFull-time - Monday-Friday, Term Time only. Permanent role.Based at Ingfield Manor School, Billingshurst, RH14 9AXIngfield Manor School is a day and weekly boarding school for 60 pupils and students from age 3-19 with neuro-motor impairments such as cerebral palsy. We are one of the UK's leading Conductive Education providers. The aim of our services is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for adults, young people and children.We are looking for a Senior Team Member/Senior School Support Worker with experience of supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities to work alongside a class teacher to support the leadership of a group of 6-8 students. We offer staff a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training to ensure everyone is provided with the best possible start to their employment.Responsibilities:· To support, mentor and supervise School Support Workers and Apprentices in all aspects of care and education.· To share expertise and knowledge with other members of the team and model good practice at all times.· To line manage a given number of Team Members and/or Apprentices.· To oversee and ensure all students needs are met including the administration of medication and gastrostomy feeds.· To lead Motor Learning/swimming sessions on a weekly basis.· To provide cover in the absence of teachers - following plans provided.· To perform the duties of shift lead, organising staff and resources to ensure needs of students are met and residential routines and activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.· To maintain high standards of record keeping and ensure consistency of records across the department.· To ensure the physical environment is maintained to high standards of safety, hygiene and presentation.· To maintain good contact with parents/guardians.· To be involved in all aspects of the students' day.Ingfield Manor school is committed to safeguarding children and young people.
