Autism Support Assistant - School Based

Autism Classroom AssistantAutism Classroom Assistant required to work in a Secondary School in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and has an Autism base which gives specialist support to learners who are on the Autistic spectrum. The Autism Classroom Assistant must have experience supporting people with ASD either personally or professionally, and it is desirable that the successful candidate has school based experience or has worked with young people previously.Requirements to work in this school through Teaching Personnel:Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update serviceUp-to-date registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)Hold a level 2 Safeguarding Qualification - *FREE through Teaching Personnel*The Autism Classroom Assistant must support pupils both academically and socially by engaging in lessons which can be either in the ASD base or in the mainstream school. It is important you have excellent communication skills in order to break down tasks and give the pupils the support that they require.
