Director of Studies - Land Based (Green Skills)

Capel Manor College is the only College in London that aims to deliver outstanding and inspirational and environmental land-based learning opportunities across the Greater London region. Our most recent Ofsted report rated the College “good” with good effectiveness of leadership and management. Aspiring to excellence, the College has an excellent reputation for quality, is financially strong and has continuous growth in student numbers.   Fundamental to the College’s forward-thinking strategy is support for the environment and food supply in Greater London and the southeast

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Studies – Land Based (Green Skills).  The scope of this role will be to manage a newly created Directorate comprising the Schools of Horticulture and Garden Design, Arboriculture, Agriculture and Environmental Conservation, Floristry and Balloon Artistry.

Capel Manor College has a well-established reputation for delivering high quality courses in these specialist ‘Green Skills’ areas. Capel’s course tutors have exceptional skills with extensive knowledge and experience of their industries.

Students have access to 30 acres of gardens at our Enfield campus as well as wonderful plant collections and open spaces at Regent’s Park, Gunnersbury Park, Crystal Palace Park and Mottingham to provide inspiration throughout their studies.

Our courses give young people and adults the opportunity to gain nationally and internationally recognised qualifications with the prospect of progressing to further study, higher education, employment or starting their own business venture whilst learning in a unique and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will lead, develop, manage and co-ordinate the development and delivery of high quality, cost effective curriculum areas which progress towards and achieve the College’s strategic and operational objectives.

The ideal candidate will be innovative and have experience of strong industry links and developing new partnerships and creating opportunity for sponsorship, with extensive knowledge of leading and managing a range of curriculum specialisms in Further Education. They will be able to expand and promote the provision by highlighting the amazing achievements of our students at national shows, exhibitions, industry awards, associated LEP’s and awarding bodies.
