Total salary between £24,985.99 - £28,674.45 per annum (This is depending on experience and includes a market supplement that is revied annually).

HSDC is seeking to appoint a Technician/Teacher in our busy Engineering team at our South Downs Campus. Applicants must be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (subject relevant).

Technician

22 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Grade 3, Spinal Point 9 (fixed point) £11,567.06 p.a. plus market supplement £594.59 which is reviewed annually.

Essential skills include:

  • Relevant industrial/subject experience and working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
  • Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Time management skills, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all ages and levels, verbally and in writing
  • Flexible in approach, innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners and committed to student support.

Teaching

0.4 FTE (10 hours in class teaching) Grade 5 (£12,024.33 - £15,712.79) plus market supplement £800.00 which is reviewed annually.

Do you have industry experience within Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technologies? Do you have a desire for passing on your skills, knowledge and vocational experience in a rewarding further education environment?

Applicants will have relevant vocational experience and would ideally be qualified to degree level in their subject area. A passion for the subject is essential. If you have industry experience and a desire to teach we can help you on your journey to becoming a fully qualified lecturer.

You will be a good team player, creative and flexible in your approach to working with a wide range of students including an understanding of a range of educational needs and approaches to teaching.
